Primary Purpose:

Ensures timely and accurate customer billing. Reviews, analyzes and ensures the integrity of interval energy consumption data. Communicates with internal and external customers regarding billing complaints, service changes and meter investigations, high use, and other customer billing inquiries. Assists billing employees resolving complex billing situations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex analysis in support of customer or employee inquiries regarding issues such as rate applicability, metering, and billing changes. Analyzes accounts to ensure that billing components are accurate and in compliance with CPUC rules prior to assigning to billers for action.

  • Handles escalated billing scenarios that require extensive analysis and coordination with other departments throughout the company. Include associates in process to help them understand how to resolve similar issues.

  • Investigates and resolves billing inquiries/discrepancies in such areas as Time-Of-Use billing, high bills, stuck/damaged meters and other areas. Prepares billing history reports, provides supporting analysis, applies and explains company policies in various situations. Explains residential and commercial rates and tariff classes as well as company policies and available services to internal and external customers.

  • Reviews bill processing methodologies and systems and recommend changes and improvements .Identifies and documents process improvements, including step-by-step instructions on departmental procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).







Qualifications



Required Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED Required

  • Knowledge of business practices, accounting techniques and computer systems normally acquired through college level courses.

  • 3+ Increasingly responsible experience in billing operations or related customer service activities (Associate level requires two (2) years).

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Candidate must have working knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations and related billing policies and procedures.

  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

  • We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office two to three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Business administration, finance, accounting or related field.

  • Experience in negotiations and conflict resolution.




May be filled at a higher level based on qualifications.

Work Schedule

HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 2-3 days per week.
