General function

The Talent Initiatives team is seeking an early career professional to support on talent related programming especially with tasks related to research and writing. This is a part-time internorfull-time coordinator position. EDC offers a flexible schedule including remote work on Mondays and Fridays, and in-office Tuesday-Thursday. The pay range is $20-27/hour depending on experience.

An intern can expect to work 15-20 hours per week, and to serve in the role until July 28, 2023. The coordinator role is a full-time (40 hours/week), permanent position with access to an excellent benefits package that includes a 401k employer-matching program, health, vision, and dental insurance, and more.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Excellent writer, able to compose blogs, emails, social media posts, and other forms of mass communication. The intern will write the first draft of blogs, e-blasts, and social media posts related to talent team's activities, findings, and accomplishments.

  • Savvy researcher, able to find relevant data through public sources and compile it in a digestible format with little guidance. The intern will regularly update data related to the talent pipeline including enrollment in K-12, community colleges, and universities, as well as general labor market information (LMI).

  • Great verbal communicator, able to report on the status of tasks, workload, and availability of time. They will work alongside multiple teams on several projects simultaneously. It will be important for the individual in this role to communicate when they are busy, bored, or have just enough work.

  • Organized and motivated, able to lead on meeting and event logistics such as venue, food, nametag creation, and audio/visual coordination as well as calendar management. The intern will lead on organizing logistics for events with anywhere from 5 to 100 people and should feel comfortable getting price estimates, keeping pace with a timeline of tasks, and making decisions related to event logistics.

  • Comfortable with administration, able to support the staff at EDC with office management tasks as assigned. The EDC team is small but mighty, which means nobody, not even the CEO, is above any administrative task.

  • Able to prioritize.Interns and coordinators at EDC often wear many hats, which also means they have many opportunities for professional development. In the case that they are met with several requests from different teams, they must be willing to work outside the job description, but also understand the value of prioritization.

  • Resourceful and a quick learner, with some familiarity using the following:

    • spreadsheets (ex: Excel, Google Sheets)

    • word processing software (ex: Microsoft Word, Google Docs)

    • presentation software (ex: Power Point)

    • databases (ex: Salesforce)

    • survey tools (ex: Qualtrics)

    • creative design platforms (ex: Canva, Figma, InDesign, etc.)
